MOON101-ART · open edition · drawn on chain
Burn MOON101-v2 and a contract on Base draws you a moon in plain characters, from a seed fixed the moment you mint. The more you burn, the more it draws.
Holders' entrance
Your wallet is the key ring. Sign in and each door checks on Base what the wallet holds at that moment.
You sign a short message. Signing is free: no transaction, no fee, nothing moves.
Mint room: the wallet holds MOON101-v2. Inside, you burn tokens and receive a moon.
Observatory: the wallet holds a moon. Inside, every moon minted so far, and who burned the most.
Council: the wallet holds MOON101-v2 or a moon. Inside, holders vote on proposals whose text only this site can open. Posting one needs a moon.
The server checks the chain on every visit. A wallet that gives its last moon away loses the observatory.
Process
You choose an amount of MOON101-v2. The contract sends it to the dead address, 0x…dEaD. Nobody holds the key to that address, so the tokens stay there for good.
At that moment the contract hashes your moon's number, your address and the block's randomness into a seed, and stores the seed and the amount inside your token.
Every time a wallet or an explorer asks, the contract draws the moon again from those two numbers: 16 lines of 32 characters. No image file exists anywhere.
Editions
Each tenfold step adds a feature. The three moons below share one seed, so you see only what the level changes. Your seed will differ.

The artist

One contract does all the drawing. The artist sees a moon only after its owner does.
The aspiring artist issued the MOON101-v2 token on Base on 4 November 2026 and gave a million to each member of a small first circle. MOON101-ART followed the same night: a second contract that accepts those tokens, destroys them, and draws.
There is no studio, no server with pictures and no edition size. The contract has no owner and no switch. The artist cannot mint a moon without burning tokens like everyone else, and cannot change a moon after it exists.
On chain
Everything this page claims is readable on Base. The moon contract's source code is published and matches the deployed code exactly.
Questions
The people in the room. This drop belongs to the participants of the course Blockchain Business Models, November 2026, and the allowlist is the course roster. Your seat came with a million MOON101-v2, and that token is the only ticket: no exchange lists it and no pool sells it. Inside, the lectures stop being slides. You sign, approve, burn and own with your own wallet, with tokens that cost you nothing. If you sat in the room and your wallet stays locked, tell the lecturer your address.
The tokens you burn, plus the network fee for two transactions on Base, a fraction of a cent each. No ETH goes to the artist or to this site.
No. Burning sends them to an address without a key. That is the point of the mechanism, and the reason a moon is scarce at all.
Yes. Ask the contract for ascii(1) on any Base explorer or node and it returns the first moon as text. Wallets and marketplaces read the same drawing wrapped as an image.
A moon is a standard ERC-721 token. You can transfer it like any other. The wallet that holds it gets the observatory. You can also burn the moon itself, and then nobody can read it again.
The doors open for holders. A wallet with MOON101-v2 gets the mint room, a wallet with a moon gets the observatory.
